Good food and the room upstairs is good for events. Used to run a little train around the wall of the main room, not sure if it still goes.

We stumbled across The Boat Inn when we were on holiday over the new year. We have 3 dogs, and the staff were more than welcoming. The food was amazing, and the beer wasn't bad either!!

We stayed at the Boat Inn with our dog in-between Christmas and New year. It was wonderful. Excellent food, staff were very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were clean and comfortable. I fully recommend this place!

Had dinner here as a recommendation from a local - was absolutely delicious! Ordered quite a few dishes; their daily special: the barbecue braised pork with chips/mash - was absolutely amazing! pork was tender, mash was creamy and sauce tied everything together so well! My mum and I shared one portion, which the staff so kindly plated separately for us. my sisters had their shed burger which they said was delicious and their truffle fries which our friend orders everytime she goes because she claims they are that good!! The staff were attentive and patient! Would definitely drop by again.

Been a few times for a meal now with friends. Atmosphere is good, however the food has been terrible now on 3 occasions we have been. Not recommended for food in our future.

Highly recommend this place if passing through Aboyne. The food is delicious and the service is great.

The boat is a fantastic place to eat, I recently got married, we asked if we could have a table for 12 and they let use there upstairs area for our meal .. fantastic food perfect service very friendly and helpful staff .. would go here again anytime !!!! And recommend the The boat to anyone !! ..

Stopped in for a pint on the way home with friends and a dog. 'Off' 'unhelpful' evening staff couldn't turn the outside heaters on - was told they were on a winter/summer timer! .....We had to sit outside as there was already another dog inside! I'm disabled, the hard bench seats and no heaters and blasé staff.......This is not a place I will be returning to anytime soon

Tremendous Scottish breakfast for the lodgers, included in their stay! Fabulous really! Had dinner twice and it was well prepared and tasty. The Boat Inn restaurant and pub is open to the public. The staff are friendly, efficient, and helpful. Our room was immaculate and very pleasant. Off-street parking at the rear. I highly recommend it.

Total Quality on a plate!! Outstanding breakfast, every item delicious, lovely presentation and best quality. Best full Scottish breakfast I've had recently. Exemplary, warm & friendly service, great atmosphere. Lovely place & location. Wish I'd taken some photos to share on this review. Thank you for a great start to my day.

Reviewing restaurant… Outstanding! Really good upper-end pub food with thoughtful touches. Molasses brisket, cured sea trout, seared rock turbot on Provençal sauce and excellent sweet potato fries. Service excellent. Casual but cosy; dogs very much allowed. Lovely spot by the river Dee.

I've been there a few times. It's great. Warm friendly and with a wood burning stove. Just what you need after a long winter hike. I've only had the fish or the steak. Both were excellent 👌. I can't recommend it enough.

Wonderful, gorgeous, and accommodating staff. Rooms in the rear bunky are well-done, but do lack A/C. Food is great. The Inn has a huge local following, so do make reservations for dining well in advance. Staying here is well-regarded by folks as far away as Braemar.

Popped in after a long walk along the Speyside Way with our three dogs, sat outside but looks like dogs are welcome inside too, big tub of dog biscuits and blankets for our furry friends 🧡. Coffee and hot chocolate were nice and we had some nice sandwiches/pannini after it. Take note they stop serving brunch at 11.30 and then don't start serving lunch until 12:00 so a small break in between service but drinks still available.

This review is for their restaurant: my wife and I went there for dinner three nights in a row and we were delighted with every dish, dessert and drink we tried. Though they were full and busy every night, the service was very friendly and efficient. Kudos to the Chef and team!
